Watch: Jane’s Addiction – “Underground”
January 25th, 2012
Jane’s Addiction continues to roll out the vids. This time Perry Farrell and the crew play house band in a 1920′s club that’s brimming with sin: gambling, drinking, fornicating…the horror!
Down below you can check out the video for the jam called “Underground” from their newest album, The Great Escape Artist. Speaking to Spinner.com, Farrell described the concept of the video. He said, “There are Siamese Gargoyles, séances, card games and a man in a white fedora who was also on the cover of [Led Zeppelin's] In Through the Out Door. People get made love to and murdered in the backrooms while the band plays on.”
In case you still don’t know, Jane’s Addiction is going on tour later this year and will play smaller, more intimate venues. See all the tour dates right here.
Watch: Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Look Around”
January 25th, 2012
Behold a brand new video from Red Hot Chili Peppers for the track “Look Around” from their newest album, I’m With You.
The video features each member of RHCP performing in their own separate rooms that “loosely represented the band members’ personalities, so almost all the props and artwork in the rooms came from their personal collections,” according to the band’s website.
Flea has definitely got the best room which includes a hot punk-rock chick and whipped cream fights while guitarist Josh Klinghoffer looks to be going for the minimalist approach. Drummer Chad Smith is saving time by combining his bedroom and workout area and Anthony Kiedis is just an all around family man.
If you haven’t been paying attention, the band just released a batch of new North American tour dates. Catch up by clicking here to see them.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan release short film, Thy Shalt I
January 25th, 2012
Slipknot’s own Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan have decided to go into the movie business. The first thing they did, like all aspiring film moguls, is create a short film and then, naturally, go to the Sundance Film Festival with it and show it off to all the other Hollywood emperors of film. Now us common folk get to see the film too.
Up top is the short film from Taylor and Crahan’s production company, Living Breathing Films, called Thy Shalt I. Do you think this duo has what it takes to rule Hollywood with their films? Watch and find out.

January 24th, 2012Trent Reznor not nominated for an Oscar this year
January 24th, 2012
Remember last year at the Academy Awards when Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won the Oscar for Best Original Score for The Social Network? That was fun to see, wasn’t it? Sadly it won’t be happening again this year.
It looks like the Academy is over and done with dark, brooding, digital, industrial scores and is going back to honoring the classic sounding scores. Reznor and Ross didn’t get nominated for their work on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo while legendary composers like John Williams (War Horse, The Adventures of Tintin) and Howard Shore (Hugo) have been nominated.
Furthermore, other artists that the blogosphere holds in high regard were also snubbed of nominations this year as well. The National, Zooey Deschanel and Jónsi of Sigur Rós weren’t nominated even though they made the initial short list of nominees. However, Bret MacKenzie of Flight Of The Conchords did get a nomination for his song “Man or Muppets” from the movie The Muppets.
If at any time you feel like yelling out “Bullshit” to any of this news, please know that you’re not alone.
