Radiohead almost broke up?!

I just want to make a point of something. If Radiohead should ever break up, I feel that the RiO!B would go on indefinite hiatus so I could mentally stabilize myself. Which is why, when I came across this story, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.

According to Brian Message, the man who runs Courtyard Management which oversees Radiohead, he advised the band to “split up” before releasing their album In Rainbows. He said that the band had written the songs but had spent the better part of two years unable to capture the sound of the music. Message said “Radiohead are a once in a generation act. But you have to be honest if it’s not working. You have to have passion about what you do.”

Thankfully the band decided to continue working and released In Rainbows to critical acclaim, the number one spot on the billboard charts in January, millions of people being able to download the album for free and pretty much retooled the way bands sell albums these days. Oh and they also got this little award called a Grammy but that’s not important.

Crisis averted. Phew…for a minute there I lost myself.
