NIN raises $446,000 for fan

Trent Reznor may be a dark and tormented soul but underneath it all he’s quite the nice guy.
Turns out that a NIN fan, Eric De La Cruz, needs a heart transplant and was constantly getting turned down for one. So Trent decided to lend a helping hand.
Nine Inch Nails came up with a plan that had three options so people could donate to help Eric get a heart. If you already had a ticket to see NIN then for $1,000 you got two tickets to a NIN/JA show of your choice, hang out with all the bands and have dinner with them backstage, watch the soundcheck and then watch the actual show from the side of the stage.
$300 dollars got you a chance to see the soundcheck and have a quick meet and greet with the bands before a show and if you didn’t have a ticket then for $1,200 you were given two tickets plus all the perks of the $1,000 donation package.
When NIN broke this news they managed to raise $446,000 for Eric’s heart transplant in one day! The guy could probably buy three hearts now if he wanted to.
It’s very cool when bands want to reach out and help their fans and it’s even cooler when fans respond in kind. If you want to see how you can donate then click these words to go and see Trent’s letter.
