Wavves cancel next show
So as I said in a post yesterday, I was going to keep an eye on indie-rockers Wavves after their breakdown in Barcelona at the Primavera festival. Well a new update has come to my attention thanks to the people at Pitchfork.
Turns out that the band’s next performance was in Lisbon, Portugal but it was canceled an hour before the show started. The reason behind the cancellation was “health reasons of the vocalist.”
It’s also been reported that the band missed their flight to Portugal yesterday. What kind of health reasons are we talking about here? Mental health, perhaps? Wavves Watch will continue as the story develops or until it gets boring.
UPDATE: Nathan posted on his blog talking about the breakdown in Barcelona which you can read here. In it he cites drinking mixed with drugs and a poor mental state which added up to him “losing his shit” as he says.
