Wavves Watch (part 3)
For those of you that are constantly on this site you know all about Wavves Watch. WW is the RiO!B’s chronicling of the indie rock band Wavves and their current meltdown. The whole thing started with our first post of Wavves playing the Primavera Festival in Spain and the band posted a complete fail as a performance (which you can now see video of up top).
Our next post was about Wavves frontman Nathan Williams posting on his blog saying that a mix drugs, alcohol and a slight mental imbalance due to all the pressure he’s been under led to his actions in Barcelona. His blog post was deleted but you can read his apology here. The band also canceled their next performance which was supposed to be in Lisbon, Portugal.
Which brings us to Wavves Watch part 3 where we find out that the duo, according to their Myspace page, have canceled the rest of their European tour. However they are scheduled to play two shows in July. One at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC and the other at the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, IL. My guess is that these shows will now be the make or break situations for the band. If they play solidly, with no drama, then all may be forgiven. If not, then I’m pretty sure we’ve seen the end of this band.
Will our heroes rise from the ashes of doom and gloom? Or will they be led down a path of chaos and destruction that will ultimately lead to their demise? Stay tuned for an all new Wavves Watch. Same Wavves time. Same Wavves channel.
