Pearl Jam – Get Some
Conan O’Brien debuted on The Tonight Show last night and I for one think he killed. He seemed a bit nervous at the beginning during the opening monologue but he got into his groove quickly. And while Will Ferrell did provide some laughs, the big moment of the night came when Conan uttered these lines. “Launching a show like this takes a lot of hard work and one of the things that has sustained me over the past three months was knowing that at the end of our first show I’d get to watch a performance by one of the greatest rock bands in the world.”
He introduced Pearl Jam, the curtain opened and the band immediately kicked into the killer riff of their new song “Get Some” from their upcoming album Backslider. While I couldn’t catch a lot of the lyrics (but it’s Eddie Vedder singing. When can you actually understand him when he sings?) the refrain of the song went “I got some if you need it” over a fast, loud rhythm that has got me all giddy for their new stuff.
As Conan introduced the band he held up a copy of the album’s artwork which looks like a human split down the middle with one of the sides exposed. Check it out below.
