Check out The Postelles

Yesterday I went to Santos Party House in NYC to interview The Postelles. If you’re still unaware as to who this band is then I demand you head over to their Myspace page immediately.

The Postelles are a young band with a debut album that’s being produced by Albert Hammond, Jr. of The Strokes. Their sound is an upbeat, retro power-pop groove that reminded me of being at a hipster beach party in the 1960′s. Everyone in the crowd (myself included) was dancing for nearly an hour straight which included an encore which I’ve never seen a local NYC band get. The crowd was singing along to every song and wildly cheering each time any one of them spoke into a microphone. They ended the night with their big hit “123 Stop” to which the DJ at the club played a remix of the song that officially kicked off the late night party following the band’s show.

If I were a photographer I would have immediately posted photos of the night. But alas, I’m no shutterbug. I’m merely a video blogger that occasionally writes on this site so that there might be a bit of content for you to read. Although I did find out that the lead singer, Daniel, came to the RiO!B party in May to check out the band The Ambassadors. How cool do I feel?

Anyways I’m glad I got the opportunity to interview these guys. They’re an extremely nice group and I wish them all the success in the world. The interview will be up on Monday June 8th. If you do want to see them this summer, they’re playing the All Points West festival in Jersey City, NJ on August 1st. That’s the same day Tool is headlining. So go get your tickets.
