Travis Barker talks new Blink-182 music

Travis Barker recently spoke to MTV News about what to expect on Blink-182′s upcoming album. Barker, who says the band was immediately inspired as soon as they got back together, hinted at a brand new song called “Up All Night” which has a darker tone similar to Blink’s 2003 self-titled album.

“In the case of ‘Up All Night,’ it feels like it could’ve been on the last record, or right where the last one left off”, said Barker. “It’s kind of heavy, if you mixed Box Car Racer and Blink. It all makes sense. The pieces are all together.” To hear Barker commenting on the other bands that the Blink members have been in since their hiatus is not all that surprising. He went into further detail when discussing Blink’s upcoming album.

“When we do go in [to make the new album], it’s gonna be like that. You can’t help but have everything on the table,” said Barker. “All the stuff we’ve done , like +44 and Angels & Airwaves, since we last played and recorded, it will influence the new stuff.”

Barker said that the fans will hear “Up All Night” on their upcoming summer tour and that the band is anxious to jump into a studio and start recording. However Barker is so ready to begin working on the new album that he’s filling that need while on the road. “I’ll have the studio out on tour with me, and I think Mark will too. I wanna work on it while we’re on tour.”
