The Monsters of Folk have arrived!
Have you ever woke up in the middle of the night suddenly craving something? Not food. Not a glass of water. But folk music? To be more specific a collection of great artists coming together on an album to play folk music? Well allow me to quench your thirst.
Pitchfork has reported that Jim James of My Morning Jacket, M. Ward of She & Him and Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes will be releasing an album entitled Monsters of Folk. The album also features Bright Eyes member and producer Mike Mogis.
The album was recorded over a two-year period in Malibu, CA and Omaha, NE while all the members were working on their other projects. The record will feature 15 tracks ranging from songs that sound “road-worn” to “sun-soaked”. Check out the tracklisting below:
