Jim James to release George Harrison tribute album
My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a six song tribute album of George Harrison songs on August 4th under the pseudonym Yim Yames.
Pitchfork is reporting that the album Tribute To will feature two Beatles songs written by Harrison and the other four songs come from Harrison’s solo album All Things Must Pass. James recorded the album back in 2001 a few days after Harrison died. He left it in storage after recording the entire album on his own using only an acoustic guitar and his vocals. James has also finished recording the Monsters of Folk album with M. Ward and Conor Oberst which is coming out on September 22nd.
