Bon Iver’s side project Volcano Choir releasing album

Bon Iver lead singer Justin Vernon is releasing a brand new album. Not a new Bon Iver album but his side project named Volcano Choir. The album entitled Unmap is coming out on September 22nd.
Now while everyone knows Vernon from Bon Iver, Volcano Choir has been his band since the summer of 2005. The band, which is Vernon and the Wisconsin group Collections of Colonies of Bees, recorded this album back in November of 2008 when, according to Vernon, they got together one weekend to “exorcise their ideas about beauty.”
In an interview with Pitchfork, Vernon described what type of album it would be. “I sing on it, but there aren’t a lot of lyrics. It’s mostly choir stuff. It’s definitely more on the experimental side of things. It’s all really textural and landscape-y.”
