Queens of the Led Fighters?

There are bands. There are supergroups. Then there are “Oh my sweet Jeebus I can’t believe this is actually happening!” This is one of those instances.

Our friends at Antiquiet (we’re friends because we follow each other on Twitter) have reported on a collaboration of epic proportions. Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones are currently in Los Angeles working on an album. Homme will be on guitar and lead vocals, Jones on bass and Grohl rocking the drums.

When Antiquiet interviewed Brody Dalle of Spinnerette (also Homme’s wife) about the record, she had little to say but it was enough to spark imaginations. “I’m not at liberty to talk about it… but I think [the project] is pretty fucking amazing. Just beats and sounds like you’ve never heard before.” And this collaboration has been talked about before. Way back in 2005, Grohl did an interview with Mojo Magazine where he mentioned that he was hoping to work with Homme and Jones on an album and that was the last mention of it for a while.

Plus with the only project happening between the three men is a Foo Fighter show on July 4th at the White House, they’ve got plenty of time to make some absolutely stellar music. I cannot wait to hear it!
