Spinnerette – Baptized by Fire
One of the cooler shows I’ve seen this summer was at the Bowery Ballroom where I saw Brody Dalle and her new musical concoction Spinnerette. The ex-Distillers frontwoman is by far one of the coolest chicks in rock music to date (Courtney Love ain’t got nuthin on this chick) and has pushed forward with a new band and a new sound that still kicks ass. Plus she’s now a mom which just makes her that much cooler. You can be a matriarch and still rock out on stage? You get a gold star.
Up top is the video for their song “Baptized by Fire” which is on their self-titled debut album currently in stores. If you’re not familiar with this band yet then do your homework. All the cool kids are down with this band. You do want to be a cool kid, right?
