9/9/09: The Day of the Beatle

The Beatles have always been one of if not the biggest band in rock history. This year, however, they’re making their presence known in a big way. And it’s all happening on 9/9/09.

First you’ve got The Beatles: Rock Band which will introduce the Beatles to throngs of young kids who may not yet be familiar with the Fab Four and their tunes yet. This could be the game that puts Rock Band over the top and makes it the dominating guitar game.

However to make The Day of the Beatle even cooler is that all 13 of the Beatles albums will be re-issued. There will also be a deluxe box set called Box of Vision which will also include a 200 page book of all the Beatles artwork from their albums. Everything from the covers to the back covers to the inserts and they’ll be from the U.S. and U.K. releases. Plus there will be another book called the “Catalography” which features all the tracklistings and more information from every album release.

Now let’s sweeten the deal a bit. Every album that comes in the box set will also include a mini-documentary about that album according to the four men who made the music. A sneak preview you say? Fair enough. If you head over to the Beatles official website, you can see a short excerpt of the Revolver mini-doc. You’ll get to hear the story behind the song “Tomorrow Never Knows” and why the album is called Revolver.

9/9/09 is a day that Beatles fans are expected to go crazy and spend a lot of money. Could this be the day that stabilizes our economy? Probably not but it’ll stabilize your life for a while.
