The Killers Anti-Sex Trafficking Ad/Video
What starts off as a romantic tryst at a swanky hotel becomes a look at the dark and seedy underworld of sex trafficking…and it’s a Killers video!
The Killers teamed up with UNICEF and MTV to release a video featuring the band’s song “Goodnight, Travel Well” that doubles as an anti-sex trafficking PSA. UNICEF released the statistic that every year 1.2 million children are sold into bondage and 80% of them are involved in sexual trafficking.
The video is set to air on MTV UK and The Killers released a statement regarding the video. “We are deeply shocked and appalled that women and children are forced into such exploitative situations. We hope that through MTV’s efforts, and this powerful video, millions of people across the world learn about this tragic form of modern-day slavery.”
This isn’t the first time UNICEF has teamed up with a rock band to release an anti-trafficking video. Last year, Radiohead used their song “All I Need” in a PSA and you can watch that right here. If you want more info on UNICEF then head on over to their website.
