Paul McCartney plays the Ed Sullivan Theatre

In an amazing moment of brilliance yesterday, Paul McCartney returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York where 45 years ago he made his first appearance with The Beatles. But he didn’t rock the inside of the theater for this gig. He played on top of the theater’s marquee in front of thousands of fans for Late Night with David Letterman.

If you watched the show last night then you saw him perform the songs “Get Back” and “Sing The Changes” from his new record Electric Arguments. What you didn’t see was the performance up top where he played five songs including “Back in the U.S.S.R.”, “Helter Skelter” and “Band On The Run”.

McCartney is in NYC to perform three nights at the Mets’ Citi Field in Queens, NY.
