Thom Yorke, Kings of Leon on New Moon soundtrack?!

If you follow this blog then you know I cannot stand the book/movie/franchise Twilight. I think it’s absolutely horrible and a waste of time. We even started liking Paramore because they don’t want to be a part of Twilight anymore. So it was kind of a shock when I came across this news.
Rotten Tomatoes has reported that New Moon director Chris Weitz is allegedly in talks with Thom Yorke and Kings of Leon to record new music for the Twilight sequel. Now I could have a hissy fit, start throwing things around the room and swear never to listen to Radiohead or K.O.L. again but I like them way too much. So I’m actually going to look at this as a positive situation.
First of all we’d be getting new music from two incredible artists. Secondly, we live in an age where music finds its way onto the internet so I wouldn’t have to buy the album to have these songs. Thirdly, I can only assume that the younger fans of Twilight have no idea who Thom Yorke and K.O.L. are so this could bring a lot of exposure to these artists which is good because they deserve the adoration of all. Finally, I still don’t have to see the film to hear these songs if they’re actually on the soundtrack.
Nothing has been set in stone at this point so this story is still toiling around in the rumor mill. Personally if they weren’t on the soundtrack then I would appreciate that more but we live in hard times. One does what one must for the almighty dollar, right? We’ll follow this story as it progresses. For now, check out the cover song from Thom Yorke called “All for the Best” below.
