Play your songs on Rock Band

Place another feather in the cap of Rock Band for making themselves that much cooler. Not only do you get to jam with some of your favorite rock tunes but now your song could be the next great hit in the video game franchise.
Behold the magic that is Rock Band Network. The new feature, according to Harmonix and MTV Games (via Rolling Stone), will allow users to take their original songs and turn them into playable tunes within the game. Should your song be chosen, it’ll be for sale for a 30 day period exclusively on the Xbox 360 for users to purchase. Songs for the Wii and PS3 will go into effect this fall. Artists whose songs make it into the program will be compensated by getting paid royalties and will be able to price their songs according to pricing tiers.
The program goes into effect this August and you’ll get all the directions on how to submit a song. You have to become a premiere member of Microsoft’s XNA Creator’s Club which costs $49.99 for four months or $99.99 for a whole year. Then the songs will go through testing at the website creators.rockband.com.
Could your song be the next major rocker that everyone wants to jam out to on a plastic guitar? Submit your song and it just might be.
