Adam “MCA” Yauch has cancer, Beastie Boys cancel tour
If you were psyched to see the Beastie Boys on tour this summer, you’re going to have to wait a while before seeing triple trouble live. Adam Yauch aka MCA just announced that he has cancer in a gland in his throat and he’ll be getting surgery next week to remove it followed by radiation treatments.
Luckily, doctors caught it early and it’s something that is very treatable and can be taken care of. While the cancer is in his throat it won’t affect his vocal chords which is great news. However, because of the surgery and radiation treatments, it will take time for MCA to recover so the Beasties have canceled their remaining tour dates and have pushed back the release date for their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1.
