Thom Yorke confirmed for New Moon soundtrack

I never would have suspected that my favorite artist would be linked with a series that I loathe. But, to quote Bob Dylan, the times they are a changin’.
Pitchfork (via Hitfix.com) has reported that Thom Yorke will be contributing a new song for the New Moon soundtrack. The director of the upcoming film, Chris Weitz, confirmed the news in an interview while he was at Comic-Con in San Diego.
“Unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in,” said Weitz. “To be honest, there probably is a market out there for sounds of Thom Yorke belching.” Weitz also said that he’ll be checking out the track tomorrow. But this soundtrack is actually sounding better and better.
Not only is Yorke on the album, but Bon Iver as well! Weitz was more than thrilled to report on that bit of information. “I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.” Weitz is still hoping to get Kings of Leon on the soundtrack but if he’s looking for indie-rock credibility for this film, he’s got nothing to worry about.
