Head on up Dave Grohl’s alley
I’ve never been to Warren, Ohio. For that matter, I never even heard of Warren, Ohio until this story came along.
Over the weekend, the city of Warren gave the key to their city to the renaissance man of rock music Dave Grohl. Why? Because he was born there. Now even though we all knew Dave from his time in Seattle with this one semi-famous band called Nirvana and from his stint as the frontman of another band called Foo Fighters, how many of you actually knew or cared where he was born?
So in addition to naming him Warren’s favorite son and giving him a key that unlocks…hey what do keys to the city unlock anyways? They also took the liberty of re-naming the town’s Market Alley to David Grohl Alley which officially makes Dave the only rock star, besides the Flaming Lips, to have an alley named after him (the Lips’ alley is in Oklahoma). Why do rockers get alleys? Is it because avenues and boulevards aren’t edgy enough?
