Kasabian gets hit with swine flu

English rock band Kasabian was in Australia performing on their world tour when it happened. Lead singer Tom Meighan was taken to a hospital in Sydney after being diagnosed with swine flu.

NME.com is reporting that the rest of the band has been put into quarantine and have been confined to their hotel rooms. Guitarist Sergio Pizzorno talked about the situation Kasabian is currently in. “We’re all sick as dogs, man. It’s pretty terrible. It’s a bit of a virus that we picked up in Japan. It’s so tough,” he said. “I am confined to my hotel room and I look out and see the Opera House and the harbour, and so want to be out there in it all.”

Kasabian has canceled most of their Australian dates (wouldn’t want to get the locals sick, now would we?) but hope to get back on the road soon to play the country of Malaysia.

Just when you thought the whole swine flu thing was over and done with somebody had to get it. We’re wishing Kasabian a speedy recovery and we curse whatever swine they came across while in Japan.
