Flyleaf gearing up to release second album

Texas rock band Flyleaf is gearing up to release their second album, entitled Memento Mori, on October 27th.

The band, whose last album was their self-titled debut back in 2005, will release their single “Again” on August 25th. Lead singer (and rocker cutie) Lacey Mosley talked about the album’s meaning. “I feel like the new songs began as a kind of open letter to my little sister, saying, ‘Please don’t make the mistakes that I have made.’”

Flyleaf just returned from playing shows for the troops in Afghanistan at Bagram Air Field. They also played a show near the border of Pakistan in southern Afghanistan in the town of Baylough but because they couldn’t fly in with their regular gear, they performed an acoustic/acapella set. “It was one of the most humbling and powerful experiences, as far as helping me appreciate life and appreciate what those men and women do for us all,” said Lacey.

The band is currently playing shows throughout the country and you can see their dates over at their Myspace page.
