Dwight Schrute named Weezer’s album

If you were looking for someone to blame for Weezer naming their new album Raditude we have found your target. Actor and sometime rocker Rainn Wilson.

In an interview with Spin, Rivers Cuomo revealed how the album title that has sparked a lot of WTF’s to pop up on the Internet came to be thanks to Wilson. “When it came time to find a title for the Weezer album, I asked him what he thought the ultimate album title would be and he said ‘Raditude.’” Of course! That makes perfect sense.

“The sound of Raditude is fun, high energy pop rock,” said Rivers and what we’ve heard is true so far. Their first official single, “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To”, hit all the right notes and had us singing and clapping along. Other songs including “The Girl Got Hot” and “I’m Your Daddy” (they were up on YouTube but now they’re gone) also plan on showing up on the new record. “I’m Your Daddy,’ has an up vibe with the same, heavy Weezer guitar riff but with a little electro influence. And ‘The Girl Got Hot’ — that’s kind of a witty, party jam,” said Cuomo.

Raditude is in stores on October 27th.
