Slipknot cancel their U.S. tour

At a recent show in Seattle, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor walked out on stage unmasked and told the audience they wouldn’t play because drummer Joey Jordison was taken to the hospital for a “severe medical emergency”. He promised the crowd, however, that they would be back and to hold on to their ticket stubs. Well, it looks like Slipknot may have to wait on that promise as its been reported that the band has canceled all their dates for August and September.

Kerrang.com has reported that a spokesperson for the band thought Joey would be back playing drums this week for the band but they’ve decided to cancel all their upcoming dates. If you go to the band’s website, you’ll notice that there are no shows at all.

The band had a massive show planned for 9/9/09 when their 10th anniversary box set hits stores. We’re not sure if this still plans to happen but we’re hoping that Joey gets better soon. You can watch Corey making the announcement at the Seattle show below.
