NIN rock out at Terminal 5

Guys, I just got up from bed and I had to make this my first post of the day. Last night I went to Terminal 5 in New York City to check out Nine Inch Nails for the very first time on their “Wave Goodbye” tour (which I really hope Trent doesn’t stick to). Throughout the night I was posting on my Twitter page about what was happening and took a few pics but if you want an idea as to what it was like last night then I suggest you watch the video of “Head Like A Hole” up top.

NIN played 29 songs in 2 1/2 hours which is a huge feat. Trent, by the third song, looked like he was wearing a black garbage bag because he was sweating so much. The whole night was energetic. From playing “I’m afraid of Americans” (sadly there was no Bowie cameo) and older songs like “Terrible Lie” all the way up to the new material like “1,000,000″, there was never a dull moment.

Even when the show slowed down for songs like “La Mer” and the show closer “Hurt”, everybody felt like they were ready to explode at any given moment. At times they did as the mosh pit was constantly going on in the middle of the floor while everyone around them pulsed with the beat of the music. We did get a cool surprise when Trent introduced lead singer of Bauhaus Peter Murphy on stage and he joined the band on the songs “Reptile”, the Bauhaus song “Kick in the Eye” and the Joy Division cover of “Dead Souls”.

All in all, this show definitely ranks in the top 5 of all time for me. They’re playing their final show in NYC tonight at Terminal 5 and who knows what’s gonna happen at that gig. You guys can check out the full set list from last night’s show down below (thanks to Brooklyn Vegan).

Thanks for a great time, Trent! I hope this isn’t “Wave Goodbye” but rather “See you soon”.
