The Who are working on another rock musical
Pitchfork is reporting that just because Roger Daltrey is heading out on a solo tour doesn’t mean The Who are still not around.
Guitarist Pete Townshend plans to bring back The Who name in a brand new musical called Floss. Townshend has described the musical that’s “in the style of Tommy and Quadrophenia” and is “intended for outdoor performance, or arenas.”
The soundtrack will be a brand new album from The Who and it’s expected to come out in 2010 while the musical Floss will make its theatrical debut in 2011.
Why are rockers starting to get into musicals all of a sudden? Green Day, U2 and now the Who? Where’s the musical from Mastodon? If that happens, someone buy me a ticket.
