Korn releasing digital EP’s to members only

Korn has made their way into the news again by announcing that they will be releasing digital EP’s four times a year on their website. Which is pretty cool news if you’re a platinum member of their site.

The band has announced that the first EP will be released this September and will include “a rough instrumental demo from the band’s upcoming studio album, amongst other previously unreleased tracks.”

They stress that you have to be a platinum member of their website to get the EP though. They also don’t mention how much platinum membership to their site costs and you have to sign up to be a member first before upgrading to platinum status. Now I’m not saying that new Korn won’t be good (I’m leaning in that direction) but I’ve never been one to pay for membership on a website. So this ultimately is for the diehards. If you think paying X amount of dollars for an unfinished demo with no vocals is worth the money, then you go right ahead and get yourself a copy.

Korn’s new album is expected to come out in 2010.
