Sublime is coming back this October

A while back we reported on Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh of Sublime playing a show in the Nevada desert with a new singer by the name of Rome. The band that night would go by the name of Sublime and they played songs that were a part of Sublime’s catalog. Well it’s now becoming official that Sublime featuring Rome as the singer is coming back and making an appearance in October.
Spinner reports that the band will play at Cypress Hill’s Smoke Out Festival in San Bernardino, CA on October 23rd and 24th. Other bands playing the festival include Slipknot, Pennywise, Cheech and Chong and many other acts.
Promoter Chang Weisberg was beyond excited about adding the new version of Sublime to the show. “The last minute addition of our very special guests Sublime is crazy. We always strive to make our shows a once in a lifetime event. I know Bud, Eric and Rome can’t wait to tear up the Smoke Out stage.”
Now I know a lot of people may not accept Sublime 2.0 as the original being that Brad Nowell died 13 years ago but I say we should give it a chance. Alice in Chains is back with a new singer and people are open to that idea so why can’t we accept Sublime again? If you need proof of the new Sublime, watch this video right here and you decide whether Sublime would make a great comeback or not.
