Time Magazine selects top 10 electric guitarists

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Time Magazine came out with a list of the top ten electric guitarists yesterday. I'm not really a fan of these lists being that there's hundreds if not thousands of them that come out every year and they always go with safe picks. When is someone gonna come out with a list that says the top guitarist is someone like Bo Diddley or Kurt Cobain? That's the list I wanna see.

Karen O’s soundtrack are where the wild things are

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

For a couple years, some friends of mine have sworn up and down that I look like Max from Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are. Well we'll see how much of a resemblance I hold come October 16th when the movie of the same name hits theaters. But I'll not be going to the film just to see if I'm looking in a mirror. I'll also be going to enjoy the soundtrack behind the images.
The movie boasts a soundtrack that some would call indie-tastic. Indie-nomenal.… Read More

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

The three guys in the Crooked Vultures (Josh Homme/Dave Grohl/John Paul Jones) are all extremely cool in their own way. Putting them all together though? That's like standing in front of your A.C. completely naked while it blasts… Read More

The Flaming Lips – See The Leaves

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

If you're just the casual Flaming Lips fan, i.e. you only listen to "She Don't Use Jelly" and a few tracks about Yoshimi fighting robots, then this may not be for you. If you're a fan, though, then peep this new track.
The boys of Oklahoma have a new double-album coming out called Embryonic (the cover art is up top. Beautiful, ain't it?) The album hits shelves on October 13th and you can check out one of the 18 tracks called "See The Leaves" down below.… Read More

Weezer has a severe Raditude problem

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

I tweeted about this earlier but I feel it's necessary to post about this solely because of the ridiculousness of it.
Weezer has revealed the title of their new album on their Myspace page and it's called Raditude. Really? Are they trying to bring back surfer lingo? "Bro, I had some serious Raditude on that last wave!"
But there is hope since the album… Read More

Three Days Grace reveal artwork for new album

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

You guys should see the ridiculous laptop I'm using while my Mac is in the shop getting worked on. I miss it already and it's only been 30 minutes. But we forge on.
Canadian rockers Three Days Grace have revealed the cover art for their upcoming album Life Moves On which you can see up top. The album is hitting stores on September 22nd.
Now I'm not the biggest fan of this band being that all their radio songs all had the same feel to them and they never struck me as anything… Read More
