If you were freaking out yesterday over the story that drummer Charlie Watts was quitting the Rolling Stones, you can put down the brown bag you were hyperventilating in.

For those of you that don’t know, some small Australian music website started the rumor that Watts was quitting the iconic rock band yesterday. Several websites picked up the story until the band issued a statement that read the following:

“Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning on a small music web site in Australia, drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones.”

So you can relax. If anything, Charlie is gearing up to release a new Stones record next year if Keith Richards has anything to say about it.
