Muse – Undisclosed Desires

I just came across a brand new song from Muse’s new album, The Resistance, called “Undisclosed Desires” thanks to the good people at Stereogum.

The song is definitely long enough to be a radio single (around 3:30 minutes) but I’m still deciding whether I like it or not. It’s not as epic as “United States of Eurasia + Collateral Damage“. It’s not as upbeat as “Uprising“. It’s just kind of chill. I guess the best way I could describe it is it sounds like the track that will become a hip-hop remix. You can definitely nod your head to the beat with its staccato strings and slap bass.

I’m actually listening to it right now and it’s starting to grow on me. It’s getting me quite excited for this new album. This song has it’s own sound and stands on its own from the other two tracks I’ve heard. I’m just trying to figure out Muse’s direction for this album and every song I’ve heard pulls me in a new direction which I love. OK I like this song now. Go listen to it up top and learn to like it as well.

The Resistance comes out on 9/13.
