The Raconteurs are nominated for a CMA?
“Old Enough” B-Roll
Jack White must have a rock n’ roll Midas touch. Every time he does something with music it turns out sounding pretty cool and he always gets recognition for it in some way. Which is why it comes as no surprise that his band The Raconteurs have been nominated for a Country Music Award.
Over at TwentyFourBit, they reported on the story that Jack White and his crew are nominated for a possible country music honor because of the video up top. They’re nominated in the category of Musical Event of the Year and they’re up against country powerhouses Brooks & Dunn, Lee Ann Womack, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood.
Back in 2008, Jack and the boys went down to Nashville, TN to record a version of their killer song “Old Enough” from their album Consolers of the Lonely with multi-instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs and singer Ashley Monroe and turn it into a bluegrass jam.
It’s pretty cool to see how one song can cross over into a new genre when you add just a few new elements into the mix. Check out the video and tell me you don’t like this new version. Impossible.
