Courtney Love wants to sue Guitar Hero

The above picture is a snapshot of Courtney Love’s Twitter page (which is just boat loads of fun to read) saying that she did not approve the rights to Kurt’s likeness for his avatar in the the new Guitar Hero 5.
Pitchfork is reporting that Courtney has blown the proverbial gasket over Kurt appearing in the game and plans to take action. “”We are going to sue the shit out of Activision. We being the Trust, the Estate, the LLC, the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises,” was a recent 140 character entry she made.
Spinner is reporting that Courtney, throughout the many tweets that she posted, “goes on to rebut the claim that the Activision deal was made in response to the millions in debt due to forgeries regarding the Cobain estate.”
I don’t know where this story is headed but I do know that Kurt Cobain singing Bon Jovi and Bush songs and screaming like Flava Flav isn’t exactly the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while.
UPDATE: Activision just released the following statement in response to Courtney Love. “Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero® 5.”
Apparently this statement has been released with the approval of Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. As Ricky Ricardo would say: “Courtney, you got some ‘splainin to do.”
