It’s Ozzy Osbourne Day in California
While 9/9/09 was deemed the Day of the Beatles, 9/10/09 in Hollywood, CA has been deemed Ozzy Osbourne day.
Tonight the Sunset Strip Music Festival kicks off in the city of angels and Ozzy will close the festival on September 12th. It will mark the first time that Ozzy has played the Strip since he played there back in 1970 at the Whisky-A-Go-Go as the frontman for Back Sabbath (via Blabbermouth).
West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tempore John Heilman had this to say about Ozzy. “Ozzy has had a sizeable musical impact. We want to salute all of his contributions to the music industry and to the Sunset Strip.”
The festival has quite the lineup as bands like Korn, Pepper, Shiny Toy Guns and more will rock the Sunset Strip for the next three days. But since today is Ozzy day how would you celebrate? A headless bat cake? A marathon of The Osbournes? Blasting “War Pigs” at full volume as you beat up your little brother? You have a lot of options so take the time to celebrate the music of Ozzy.
