Brian “Head” Welch denied re-entry into Korn
Brian “Head” Welch, former guitarist of the band Korn, left the group because he said he’d been saved by Jesus Christ. I’m not bashing the guys religious beliefs but apparently being saved by Jesus means you’re not gonna be as successful in music.
Altitude TV recently did an interview with Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer which you can check out up top. In it, Munky reveals that Head recently asked the band if he could come back and they simply denied him.
“Brian actually contacted us recently and wanted to come back to the band. And it was not the right time… for us,” Munky said. “We’re doing well, and it’s kind of like… It’s kind of like if you divorced your wife and she went on and she stayed successful and her career flourished, and you go back and [say], ‘My gosh, she’s still hot.’ ‘Baby, can we get back together?’ ‘Wait a minute… All the stuff’s been divided, and it’s like…’ I don’t see it happening right now. It’s not gonna happen right now.”
Munky also addressed former Korn drummer David Silveria saying how shocked he was that Silveria sold all of his drum equipment. “He doesn’t even own a drum stick. I mean, it blows me away,” Munky said.
Korn is planning on releasing an album in 2010 but after Jonathan Davis releases his solo album first.
