Black Keys + Hip-Hop = Blakroc
I heard about this project for a while now and I should have written about it since I love the Black Keys but I was waiting to see how it would evolve. Now I’m sold on the idea and I want you guys to be on board with me.
The blues/rock band Black Keys have teamed up with hip-hop artists including Mos Def, Jim Jones, RZA, Ludacris and more to create a new rock/hip-hop collab album known as Blakroc. Up top you can check out the second webisode of how the album was made. You see Mos Def dancing around the studio to a grimy rock beat that he lends lyrics to. The song would eventually become “Hoochie Choo” which was released around mid-September.
The album will hit stores on Friday November 27th which is also “Black Friday”. You can pre-order is from the Blakroc website and check out more trailers and webisodes there.
