Bruce Springsteen bids the Meadowlands goodbye

I can’t lie to you guys. Even though I’ve lived in New Jersey for almost 10 years I never really became a Bruce Springsteen fan. I absolutely respect him as a musician and like his music but I’m not a fanatical NJ fan of the Boss. But I had to put this video up in honor of Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands.

Bruce is playing a string of concerts at the stadium before they shut it down and make way for the bigger, shinier stadium right next door. At his concert last night, he walked out on stage and opened with a brand new song written for the Meadowlands and New Jersey herself. It’s called “Wrecking Ball” and you can check it out up top. If you want the full version of the song, you can watch grainy fan footage here.

Not only did he debut the new song but also played his classic album Born To Run from beginning to end. All in all he played a three hour show. Not bad for a guy who just turned 60. It must be that Jersey pride.
