Guns N’ Roses sued for stealing

Axl, axl, axl. It was one thing for you to do no publicity for Chinese Democracy. You’re a private person, okay we get that. It was one thing for you to try and sue Dr. Pepper for their giveaway of free soda because you felt they didn’t honor their part of the agreement. It’s one thing when you want to take Guns N’ Roses and play shows in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. But now you’re stealing from other artists? For shame Mr. Rose.
GNR and their label have been sued by the British label Independiante and the U.S. arm of Domino Records for copying parts of songs by the German electronic artist Ulrich Schnauss and using them in the song “Riad N’ The Bedouins”. The songs they have been accused of stealing are called “Wherever You Are” and “A Strangely Isolated Place”.
The lawsuit is seeking one million dollars in damages. According to Rolling Stone, the lawsuit is focusing on the beginning of “Riad N’ The Bedouins” because that’s where they claim that Schnauss’s music is used. Down below, we’ve posted the music videos of Schnauss’s songs so you can take a listen for yourself and see if they have a case.
