Liam Gallagher says Oasis is done
Liam Gallagher has confirmed what a lot of people don’t want to hear. “Oasis is no longer,” he said in an interview with the Times Online (via NME.com).
If you don’t know the backstory then you’re a bit behind everyone else. Liam and his guitarist brother Noel were about to play a show in Paris a few months ago when an altercation broke out backstage. Liam allegedly smashed one of Noel’s guitars one the ground to which Noel replied “Fuck it! I’m done!” and walked away. Needless to say the show did not happen. Noel left a message on Oasis’s website the next day saying that he was done with the band and could no longer work with Liam.
Even though Noel had left the group, everyone has been wondering whether Liam would keep Oasis going without his brother. Well we finally have our answer:
“It’s a shame, but that’s life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is no one… we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of… cool. I’m thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind’s on.”
Liam went on to say that he would continue to work with the rest of his bandmates from Oasis while Noel would go solo. As to whether the brothers would ever reconcile their differences, Liam said “Well, that’s a long way off yet, man, but who knows?”
Well if Liam plans on starting a new band then maybe he could start with an image makeover and shape up those eyebrows. Dude, talk about wild and unruly!
