U2 wants a Rock Band game
OK who has their own video game? The Beatles? Check. AC/DC? Check. Van Halen? Check. Now who are we missing from this list? Hmmm? Oh that’s right! The guys that are apparently in the biggest band in the world. Of course I’m talking about U2.
The Irish rockers had talks with Harmonix back in 2008 about creating a U2 Rock Band game but talks fell through. Now, one year later, the option is up for discussion again. Bassist Adam Clayton spoke to USA Today (via CoS) about a Rock Band game that had the Bono touch.
“I love the idea that that’s where people are getting music, and we’d love to be in that world,” Clayton said. “We’ll figure something out. What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn’t want to be caricatured.”
Do you really think that a ton of people would go out an buy a U2 themed Rock Band game? I mean they’re a great band with tons of amazing songs but would U2 really excite the public enough so that we would go and buy Rock Band: U2? The Beatles were a legendary band that have captured the minds of hearts of everyone worldwide. U2 is still building on their legendary status. What do you guys think?
