Rock Band: Queen? Just maybe

So the hot trend right now, if you’re a mega-rock band, is to get your own video game. The Beatles got one, AC/DC had their own pack, Van Halen is getting one, Pearl Jam is getting one, U2 is working on one and now the band Queen may jump into the digital rock ring with their own version of Rock Band.

In an interview with the BBC (via Kotaku) guitarist Brian May expressed how excited he was that Queen was going to be involved in the Lego version of Rock Band alongside figures like Iggy Pop and David Bowie. “It’s the ultimate accolade, to be portrayed in Lego. My dreams are all fulfilled now.”

But that may not be the only version of Rock Band that Queen shows up on. May said that there has been talk on the hush-hush about the band getting their own game. “Yes, we’re into it,” said May, “I think it may happen.”

I’m all for these bands being in games like this because it exposes them to younger audiences but wouldn’t it be cheaper just to buy their albums?
