Snoring Help
Today must be the day of minimalist music videos; snoring help. First the Dead Weather release their second version of “I Cut Like A Buffalo” featuring Jack White and a belly-dancer. Now the Arctic Monkeys have released the music video for “Cornerstone” which shows lead singer Alex Turner looking like a 70’s child singing to the screen whilst wearing old school headphones and holding an even older school tape player.
“Cornerstone” is the second single off the Monkeys album Humbug which is in stores now. It’ll be released on November 17th as a digital single and will come with three b-sides called “Catapult”, “Sketchhead” and “Fright Lined Dining Room” (via Pitchfork).
I’m starting to miss the days when music videos really grabbed your attention – snoring help. When a video actually made you sit down and pay attention to the visuals as well as the music; snoring help. Seeing a video like this reminds me of any random bar in the LES that would project this on a brick wall just because it’s something “alternative” to have in the background. I like the song and I like the Arctic Monkeys – snoring help. Not digging this video though; snoring help.
