MGMT announce new album

Everybody’s favorite indie-pop/rock band known as MGMT have announced their brand new album, Congratulations, will be out sometime in 2010.

Singer Andrew VanWyngarden recently spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle (via CoS) about the new album and what it will sound like. “It’s us trying to deal with all the craziness that’s been going on since our last album took off. Sometimes it just doesn’t feel natural.”

The band’s last album, Oracular Spectacular, created a huge buzz with songs like “Kids” and the infectious “Electric Feel”. Hopefully, with the help of Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember producing, the new record will have that same kind of feel to it. Although VanWyngarden has admitted that the song “Congratulations” will have a darker feel to it. How about you guys decide?
