New RHCP album in October 2010?



Between Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats and Flea playing gigs with Thom Yorke, the boys of Red Hot Chili Peppers have been keeping busy. But what of their band and the funky sounds that emanate from their instruments? If Chad Smith is true then we could get a new dose of California sun-drenched funk rock in October of 2010.

Chad spoke to Clash Music (via NME) and revealed some tantalizing information about the band’s new album. “We’re gonna write for a while, it usually takes us a while,” Smith said before semi-confirming a release date. “Some time next year, maybe this time [next year]“.

Take your time, boys. No need to rush awesome.
