MTV should be walled up

I’ve had enough. Seriously, it’s time for people to stand up and tell the “music channel” known as MTV to kindly fuck off. It’s bad enough that they’ve changed the “M” in their name from “Music” to “Meh”. Now they’re taking something that should be seen as historic and turned it into an insult of sorts.
Tonight, the European Music Awards will be held in Berlin and, as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the falling of the Berlin Wall, MTV thought it would be nice if U2 played in front of the last remaining piece. Sounds like a grand idea except for one thing. Since the 10,000 tickets sold out for the concert, MTV decided to erect a two meter barrier to block those who didn’t buy tickets from seeing the show. WTF?!
So let me get this straight. MTV put up a wall so people could not watch U2 play a concert in front of what’s left of the Berlin Wall? Smart move. Who’s your concert planner? Any of the random sluts from your shit reality shows?
But apparently MTV released a statement saying why they did this. “We are asking fans without tickets to watch the concert on television…the barrier is for security reasons and to contain the crowd, allowing the surrounding shops and restaurant to continue trading.” Oh well that makes perfect sense. I’m so relieved. Idiots.
The website Consequence of Sound came up with a novel thought. Why didn’t MTV plan on the concert on the eastern side of the gate where no businesses are around? Is there better lighting on the western side so everyone can see your close up of Heidi Montag in the crowd? Retards.
I know this post may seem a bit harsh and I’m pretty sure no one from MTV will read this but I needed to express my frustration. It’s dumb moves like this that prove that MTV is completely out of touch. They could give a shit about the Berlin Wall unless it has ads of their new show where a blonde 16-year-old gets a slave for her birthday (I wouldn’t be surprised if that became a real show). I really hope Bono says something about it while on stage. But I’m sure if he does, MTV will just cut to commercial or an award for worst acting in a show.
