Andrew WK to perform The Simpsons theme song
Andrew WK, the partymeister himself, will get an opportunity to show off his skills as a master musician when he tackles the iconic theme song to the TV show The Simpsons.
Deaf Left Ear reported that Andrew, along with rap group People Under The Stairs, have reworked the theme for the 20th anniversary of the show. The song will feature Andrew playing piano while scatting (no I’m not making this up) underneath People Under The Stairs DJing the beat.
The finished song will feature many genres of music performed by many different artists on the season finalé which will air January 14 on Fox.
A few other bands including Sonic Youth, Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Yo La Tengo have covered the song already. Where do you think Andrew’s version will stand?
