Rivers Cuomo hospitalized after bus crash
Here’s a story that music bloggers probably hated to have to write: Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo injured in bus crash.
According to CNN, a bus carrying Rivers, his wife and daughter and two others slipped on a patch of ice, hit a guardrail and eventually fell into a ditch in upstate New York. Rivers complained of some pain in his ribs and was taken, along with his assistant, to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. Rivers’ wife and daughter and a fifth passenger required no medical attention.
Here’s hoping that Rivers and his assistant get better very soon and that the pain isn’t anything severe. So far Weezer haven’t announced any show cancellations and their next show is on December 7th in Boston. We’ll keep you guys updated as soon as we get new information.
UPDATE: The rest of the Raditude tour is canceled due to Rivers’ injury from the crash. A post up on Weezer’s website has said that Rivers probably won’t need surgery but is staying in the hospital for observation. Rivers’ assistant, Sarah, has been discharged from the hospital.
