U2, Karen O, Paul McCartney nominated for Golden Globes

Ah, the Golden Globe awards. Where actors get together to vote for other actors to win awards for TV shows and movies that would probably never get any recognition at the Oscars. Case in point; Sandra Bullock is up for TWO awards this year. See? Complete madness.
But, as far as music is concerned, some fine rock music acts have made their way onto the nominee list (via TwentyFourBit). The most obvious nominee (and probably the one that also gets nominated for the Academy Award) is Karen O and The Kids for the Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack. That soundtrack recently got a Grammy nomination as well after Miley Cyrus song “The Climb” was disqualified.
Other nominees for this year’s Golden Globes include U2 and their song “Winter” from the film Brothers and Paul McCartney’s song “I Want To Come Home” from the film Everybody’s Fine. There are also nominations for T-Bone Burnett and for the soundtracks to the films Avatar and Nine.
