Question: what do you get when you take two stars from the Twilight movie series and put them in a biopic of Joan Jett and The Runaways? The answer is…I’m not too sure yet.

Up top is the teaser trailer for the film The Runaways which stars Kristen Stewart as the raven-haired Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie (this girl really grew up. I still remember her from I Am Sam.) The movie, based on the 45 second teaser, will start off in 1975 as we watch the Runaways ride to stardom but then we’ll probably see their eventual downfall as well. Biopics usually follow the same formula, right?

It’s cool that they use the song “Cherry Bomb” in the trailer. Not to mention Kristen Stewart is pretty spot on as far as Joan Jett’s looks go. My guess is this movie will be one that the girls go to for their empowerment night or they’ll drag boyfriends along because he said he would see any movie she wants but in return he gets to do weird things to her in bed…or maybe that’s just how I deal with seeing movies with chicks.

The movie will debut at the Sundance Film Festival before going nationwide in the spring of 2010.
